The California Coastal Commission starts with a mistaken and wrongful understanding that you can do nothing with your land without their permission. This country is based on life, liberty and property and laws cannot be overly broad and misused to take away all rights of ownership. You own the land. The ideas of common good justifying taking away all of your rights is incongruent with Constitutional guarantees but that does not stop them. The price of the California Coastal Commission far outweighs other better ways to prevent injury to environment and/or ecological issues. We need moderation to an overzealous power-hungry group that started with good intentions to protect the shoreline and has become a dictatorship frustrating development and taking property rights. Help us get an initiative on the ballot to advance property rights, your bill of rights. Be free from out-of-control government left or right. It is your property.
